In April it was time to hit the road again for Green Bioactives’ second trade show of the year. I flew out to the United States for the SupplySide Connect Tradeshow which was held from 8-9 April at Secaucus, New Jersey.

The event attracts over 3,000 international professionals from the nutraceutical and food & beverage industries and, as the name suggests, is about forming connections and progressing new ideas for ingredients and solutions.

My role was to introduce GBL-Memory1, our patented nutraceutical complex that’s been proven to improve Total Memory by up to 10.1%, to the North American market as well talking about our ground-breaking Plant Cell Culture Technology.

The goal was to build relationships with businesses who our products and technology could be a good fit for.

It’s always hard to know how these events will go and what people will be interested in. Luckily, we received a lot of attention, helped by our eye-catching stand which drew people in to ask more about what we did.

It’s always great to have a design that stands out from the crowd, and we certainly did at SupplySideConnect! It even featured a QR code for participants to test their own memory with our fun quiz.

As we anticipated, most of the conversations centred around GBL-Memory¹ with people wanting to understand what it was, how it worked, and the published study which demonstrated its efficacy.

People were really interested to hear about a new product in the market, especially one that was backed up with clinical data. As our stand said, ‘now that’s unforgettable’.

Amongst the conversations happening during the two days, it was no surprise that people were widely discussing the new tariffs that have recently been imposed and considering their impact on the rest of the world.

There were friendly discussions about what the world thought about the US and the impact of the tariffs on the market. Needless to say, there was a lot of chat but no real answers. I guess only time will tell!

A great opportunity to connect

While I can’t mention every person I had the pleasure of speaking with, I can say it was definitely a worthwhile event. I had the opportunity to connect with people from companies of all sizes, many of whom showed a genuine interest in the work we were doing in our lab up in Scotland, UK. Even if they thought my accent was Australian!

It’s always great to speak to people who are interested in learning more about GBL-Memory¹ and I hope this is the start of our venture into North America.Thank you SupplySide Connect!
